The NB3800 is a high-speed and ruggedized cellular router designed for rail environments. Its rail industry approvals, versatility, security features and performance make it ideal for applications such as Passenger WiFi, Passenger Infotainment, eMobility or transmitting operation Data.
Its features include a 5G-NR module, up to two WiFi access point with latest IEEE 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) standard, GNSS for positioning , 2 Gigabit and 3 Fast Ethernet ports and extended internal storage capacity .
The router is compliant with the mandatory requirements of EN 50155 (pending) and EN 45545. Communications interfaces include hardened connectors, including M12 for Ethernet, as well as TNC connectors for antenna connections.
The software is based on well proven components including an embedded Linux operating system and a powerful communication protocol suite. Customer specific software extensions may be implemented via a sophisticated SDK or Linux containers (LXC).

Der NB3800 ist ein robuster Hochgeschwindigkeits-Mobilfunkrouter, der für den Einsatz in Schienenfahrzeugen konzipiert wurde. Seine Zulassungen für die Bahnindustrie, seine Vielseitigkeit, seine Sicherheitsmerkmale und seine Leistung machen ihn ideal für Anwendungen wie Fahrgast-WiFi, Fahrgast-Infotainment, eMobility oder die Übertragung von Betriebsdaten.
Zur Grundausstattung gehören WLAN-Access mit IEEE 802.11ac (WiFi 5)-Standard, GNSS zur Ortung sowie 2 Gigabit- und 3 Fast Ethernet-Ports. Dank Standardschnittstellen lässt sich das Gerät kundenspezifisch konfigurieren und je nach Verfügbarkeit mit den benötigten Modems bestücken. Das aktuell eingesetzte 5G-Modem unterstützt das Zeitduplexverfahren (TDD) sowie das Frequenzduplexverfahren (FDD) und bietet bis zu 4x4 MIMO.
Die Software basiert auf bewährten Komponenten wie einem Embedded Linux und einer leistungsfähigen Kommunikationsprotokollsuite. Kundenspezifische Softwareerweiterungen können über ein ausgeklügeltes SDK implementiert werden.
