MODBUS
MODBUS ist ein Protokoll auf der OSI Ebene 7 Anwendungs-Schicht. Es bietet Client-/Server-Kommunikation zwischen Geräten auf verschiedenen Bussysteme und Netzwerken.
MODBUS ist seit 1979 ein De-facto-Industriestandard, der die Kommunikation von Millionen von Automatisierungsgeräten garantiert.
Dank seiner einfachen und eleganten Struktur wächst die Verbreitung von MODBUS auch heute noch weiter.
Im Ethernet Protokoll ist System Port 502 für MODBUS reserviert. MODBUS beruht auf einem Request-/Reply-Protokoll. Die verschiedenen Dienste sind als Teil des Request-/Reply-Protokolls durch standardisierte MODBUS-Funktionscodes implementiert.
