PC/104 Opto-22 Compatible Digital I/O DAQ plus 3 16-bit Counter/Timer Module

The DM5806 has 24 TTL/CMOS-compatible digital I/O lines which can be directly interfaced with external devices or signals to sense switch closures, trigger digital events, or activate solid-state relays. These lines are provided by the on-board 8255 programmable peripheral interface chip. The 8255 can be operated in one of two modes: Mode 0 or Mode 1. To ensure high driving capacity, CMOS buffers are installed.

Pads for installing and activating pull-up or pull-down resistors are included on the board. Installation procedures are given at the end of Chapter 1, Board Settings.

An 8254 programmable interval timer contains three 16-bit, 8 MHz timer/counters to support a wide range of timing and counting functions. The clock, gate, and output pins for each of the timer/counters are available at P6, a 20-pin right angle connector.
