AMC-3201/2/3 Single Mid-Size AMC SATA/SAS enterprise hard drive storage module is designed with an innovative side mount to minimize the height of the unit and enable it to fit in the Mid-size form factor. This allows it to be installed on high performance blades that have components under the AMC carriers due to their high component density. The AMC-3201/2/3 is AMC.0 Single Mid-Size AMC (AMC.0 ECN002 pending) and AMC.3 compliant and designed to work in a MicroTCA (µTCA) shelf. It has two SAS/SATA ports to support mirrored RAID 0 on a host board that provide the capability to do so, such as the RadiSys ATCA-4300 server blade and the RadiSys ATCA-1200 AMC Carrier blade.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The AMC-3201/2/3 is a Single Mid-Size AMC that is designed to support mechanically or and electrically, SAS and SATA 2.5” Small Form Factor (SFF) drives. The initial implementation of the AMC-3201/2 and the HDD AMC are 2.5” SAS rotating disk. Future versions of the product will include SATA and FLASH drives. The AMC-3201, AMC-3202, and AMC-3203 connect to Ports 2 and 3 per AMC.3 and require adequate +12 VDC supply to ensure integrity of operation. All control of the drive is achieved with SCSI commands per SAS or SATA specifications. Out of band management of the drive is achieved with an on-board IPMI based Module Management Controller (MMC) which oversees all hot-swap operations, E-keying and monitors the health of the device, including; temperature and supply voltages.
STANDARDS COMPLIANCE
The AMC-3201, AMC-3202, and AMC-3203 will operate in µTCA shelf and carrier that conforms to Single Mid-size AMC.0 (with ENC002) electrical1 and mechanical specifications, and the AMC.3 port connection specifications.
