Der Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) PICMG Standard für Prozessor- und I/O-Module unterstützt PCI Express (AMC.0), Gigabit-Ethernet (AMC.2), Fibre Channel (AMC.3) sowie Serial Rapid I/O (AMC.4) als Backplane-Kommunikation.
AMCs können in AdvancedTCA- (ATCA), MicroTCA- sowie in einigen Server-Chassis verwendet werden. AMCs sind Hot-Swap-fähig. Ein ATCA Trägerboard kann bis zu 8 AMCs und ein MicroTCA System bis zu 12 AMCs aufnehmen.

// The Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) introduces a sophisticated PICMG standard for computing and I/O modules covering a variety of electrical interfaces which may include PCI Express, Advanced Switching, Serial RapidIO, and Gigabit / 10 Gigabit Ethernet.
AMCs can be used in AdvancedTCA (ATCA), MicroTCA, and some server shelfs. The AMC standard includes Hot-Swap. An ATCA Carrier may take up to 8 AMCs and a MicroTCA System up to 12.
